SHIELD SUNGLASSES
Our FREDDIE Kids fits more snugly around the head than other kids’ sport sunglasses thanks to its curved frame design. FREDDIE Kids also sits flush with the face at the sides, offering excellent protection from wind, dirt, and sunlight. Your child’s eyes stay perfectly shielded – even on fast-paced adventures.
POLYCARBONATE LENS
Sunglasses lenses made from polycarbonate are especially impact-resistant. So if the sunglasses are dropped, the lenses are unlikely to break. And even if they do, there's no risk of injury – because polycarbonate doesn’t splinter.
Polycarbonate lenses can also be manufactured very thin, making them extremely lightweight. On top of that, the material offers excellent UV protection. That's why sunglasses with polycarbonate lenses are ideal for both everyday wear and sports.
Naturally, all POP EYES kids’ sunglasses are equipped with polycarbonate lenses.
ANTI-REFLECTIVE COATING
An anti-reflective coating (also known as AR coating) is applied to optical surfaces like sunglass lenses to reduce reflections and glare.
It consists of ultra-thin layers with different refractive indices designed to effectively reduce the light reflected off the lens surface. This results in a clearer, higher-contrast image – enhancing visual comfort.
UV PROTECTION
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is an invisible part of sunlight that can damage the eyes. Prolonged exposure can lead to eye problems like cataracts and macular degeneration.
That’s why it’s essential for sunglasses to offer strong UV protection. A quality pair of sunglasses should block at least 99% of harmful UV rays to protect your eyes from long-term damage.
All our sunglasses protect against both UVA and UVB radiation.
VLT – VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION
“VLT” stands for Visible Light Transmission and refers to the percentage of visible light that passes through the lenses.
A low VLT number means the lenses are darker and let less light through, while a high VLT indicates lighter-tinted lenses that let in more light.
Sunglasses are also categorized by their VLT level – usually from 0 to 4:
Category 0: very light tint
Category 4: very dark tint, high light protection

MIRRORED LENS
Mirrored sunglasses feature a reflective coating on the outside of the lenses.
This coating reflects incoming light, reducing glare and increasing wearing comfort. The mirrored coating is applied in several layers, creating cool visual effects and trendy gradient finishes.
Mirrored sunglasses are currently very popular – and available in many colors.

RUBBERIZED NOSE PADS
The rubberized nose pads ensure extra comfort. These are small pads at the bridge of the sunglasses that rest on the nose, helping to hold the frame in place and evenly distribute the weight.
